Meet your newest epic additions to the Download 2020 lineup below.

The Gloom In The Corner

Melbourne’s The Gloom In The Corner are a concept band exploring the depths of human melancholy through a vessel of their own creation. Their latest instalment 'Flesh & Bones' continues the band’s dark, heavy and operatic voyage through misery, woe and misanthropy. Beginning the year with a performance at Unify Festival 2020, the group has no plans of slowing down.

Q. Mikey, Matt, Nic, Paul - Which band are you most excited to be playing with at Download?

A. Mikey - My Chem are my all time favourite band so definitely them. I’m also keen to see Deftones, Venom Prison, and all our local friends who are also performing.

Nic - I'm really excited to see Deftones, they were one of the first heavy bands I really clicked with. Also really keen to catch The Hu and Venom Prison

Paul -  For myself, Deftones, they’ve been a huge influence in my musical taste and songwriting.

Matt - My Chemical Romance and Deftones feels like a dream come true, I draw so much influence from those two bands, especially watching My Chem evolve throughout releases and loving every incarnation of them. I'll also really enjoy seeing our mates Dregg, their live show has the most uniquely beautiful energy that I can't help but be entertained by.

Q. What can we expect on the day from you? Especially the people that haven’t caught you live yet!

A. Every show we deliver the most intense and dynamic show we can give, we are here to present our characters and storyline sonically. We aim to entertain all, we have worked hard on creating a performance that is frantic and is impossible to take your eyes off. We started off the year with Unify 2020 which had huge amounts of crowd interaction, massive singalongs and moshes. If people are interested in seeing our energy, they should check out our avid crowds as well.

Q. Tell us your plans for after Download. What’s in the works?

A. For our fans, we'll be bringing new and old music to stages all over Australia, along with new additions to our musical catalogue, further developing the conceptual narrative of our characters. Accompanying all our music will be visual and interactive components that we think our audiences will be able to sink their teeth into.

Big Nasty

Dubbed ‘The Newcastle boys with the Nasty Noise’ Big Nasty are the band with only a debut single released to their name. Following the release of Sugar, these metal / punk rockers have been likened to Angel Du$t, Turnstile and Ceremony with their powerful vocals and unlimited supply of energy. Big things to come from these guys!

Q. Kristjan, Brady, Max and Jake - Which band are you most excited to be playing with at Download?

A. I think I speak for the rest of the boys when i say, we are PSYCHED to see Deftones this year.

Q. What can we expect on the day from you? Especially the people that haven’t caught you live yet!

A. Expect a barrage of angry 2 minute songs, with stage moves we are probably WAY too unfit to pull off, a healthy amount of banter and lots of love for everyone involved.

Q. Tell us your plans for after Download. What’s in the works?

A. We want to take the Nasty Noise nationwide and play for as many people as we can. Within that time, we’ll continue to write and keep the music coming. No rest for the nasty.
